PNCUCC Midwinter Retreat for Junior & Senior High Youth
February 7 - February 9
THEME: Coming Full Circle… Another Way
LEADERSHIP TEAM: Aislyn Crane, Kristen Miller, Rev. Bruce Wilson
From Aislyn:
Hello! I’m Aislyn Crane, a West Seattle native. I am a member at Admiral Congregational UCC in West Seattle. I currently work in educational technology, supporting school districts with all things tech-related. In my free time I enjoy cooking and baking, exploring the beautiful PNW beaches we have, and relaxing with my 2-year-old cat, Theo. I am looking forward to spending time and getting to know each of you at Midwinter!

I’m Kristen! I’ve been coming to camp since I was 8, cabin leading since I was 15 and directing since I was about 25! I love camp! I am a member at Fauntleroy UCC and a proud mama of my adorable 4 1/2-year-old Charlotte. I love baking and sewing and crafting in general! I’m so jazzed that Midwinter is making it’s come back and coming full circle.
About Bruce:
Rev. Bruce Wilson has been ordained in the United Church of Christ since 2015. He has served as a hospital chaplain, sabbatical coverage and transitional minister for several churches in the conference, and currently is a mental health counselor in private practice in Tacoma. Bruce has a love of nature and how theology impacts our beliefs about nature. He and his partner Shayne have a rescue dog (Gryph) and a rather large cat (Hopkins). He spends his free time fishing, watching theatre, and traveling! He looks forward to meeting you in the near future! Bruce is a Covenant Partner at University Congregational United Church of Christ of Seattle.
PROGRAM INFORMATION:
This event is designed for youth in grades 6-12.
We all live busy lives that are constantly changing and moving at a very fast pace. Taking a break at camp can help us reconnect to ourselves, each other, and our faith. Midwinter is designed to help us gather ‘around the fire’ and check-in with how we have been, how we want to be, and what we need to live out our faith…Another Way. We welcome our youth to Pilgrim Firs to experience a time of connection and growth at camp!
Midwinter is interactive and playful. It’s a great setting for meeting new people and looking at our faith from new perspectives. The food is always amazing and there’s lots of it. There will be some serious times and some laugh out loud times. We’ll get outside when the weather allows, and stay warm and dry inside the rest of the time. Our special guest is Kaila Russell, basket weaver extraordinaire.
In an effort to increase inclusivity, this year we are offering an optional mixed-gender cabin. Please click here to learn more.

INFECTIOUS DISEASE POLICY:
We understand the risk of illness, especially respiratory illness, is ever present. Please don’t attend this event if you are uncomfortable with this risk or if you have been experiencing flu-like or significant respiratory symptoms. To protect yourself and other more vulnerable people at the retreat, we strongly recommend being fully vaccinated well before the retreat with the most current vaccinations, especially for Influenza and COVID-19. Check with your healthcare provider if you are not sure or have questions about attending. Pilgrim Firs is a mask-friendly environment, which means that masks may be worn by anyone at any time.
